Got your bags packed? Then it's time to set off! Here we have put together some useful tips for your journey. Gstaad is easily accessible by car or train from the Lake Thun region, the Lake Geneva area and the Gruyère region. The train ride in the nostalgic Golden Pass Belle Epoque is a fabulous experience. And it doesn't take long to get here from four international airports in Switzerland.

Close to the centre & quiet location

Location of the Hotel Gstaaderhof

Gstaad is located in southwest Switzerland, right on the border with the French-speaking part of the country. It is a beautiful little chalet village with an impressive past as a world spa resort and has a legendary reputation.

Once you have arrived in Gstaad, the Gstaaderhof is easy to find: It is close to the centre, not far from the car-free promenade and at the same time close to nature.

Travelling by car

From Bern: A1 motorway towards Bern, A6 towards Thun, turn off to Zweisimmen, cantonal road to Zweisimmen, Saanenmöser, Schönried, Saanen, Gstaad.
From Fribourg / Lausanne / Geneva: A12 motorway to Bulle, turn off Château-d'Oex, cantonal road to Château-d'Oex, Saanen, Gstaad.
From Sion / Montreux: A12 motorway to Aigle, turn off Aigle, cantonal road to Leysin, Les Diablerets, Col du Pillon, Gsteig, Feutersoey, Gstaad.
To the left of the Hotel Gstaaderhof is the entrance to our underground car park (CHF 13 per night).

Travelling by train

A very special train runs between the Bernese Oberland and Montreux, the Golden Pass Belle Epoque – a replica in the style of the Orient Express. So you can enjoy some stopping-off points with the romance of the railway, nostalgia and a fascinating landscape panorama – at no extra charge.

From Bern: Change trains in Spiez and Zweisimmen. Then a leisurely ride on the MOB Golden Pass train to Gstaad.
From Lausanne, Fribourg or Sion: Change trains in Montreux. Then a leisurely ride on the MOB Golden Pass train to Gstaad.

At the Hotel Gstaaderhof we can provide a free transfer to and from Gstaad train station (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.). Just contact us before your arrival. Our concierge will be happy to collect you – and look forward to giving you a friendly welcome even before you arrive at our hotel.

Travelling by plane

Four Swiss airports are available for your arrival by plane. The nearest one is Bern. Choose a rental car or the train for your transfer to the Hotel Gstaaderhof (we will be happy to pick you up from the station free of charge).
